DELEGATE FORMS for the 99th Annual New England and Bermuda District Convention are due TODAY, August 1. However, if your club hasn't designated delegates yet, that's OK. Delegate forms will be accepted by e-mail or fax until Friday, August 18. After that, delegates should bring their signed delegate forms to the Convention and present them in person at the credentials desk.Click here to download a fillable PDF delegate form.
All current district officers, lieutenant governors, and past governors are delegates at large, and need not present delegate forms. Incoming lieutenant governors are NOT delegates-at-large, and should be appointed as delegates by their clubs. Remember that your club can appoint a past lieutenant governor from another club in your division as a delegate.
Please remember to bring a gift basket or other merchandise to the Convention for First Lady Jean Jenkins' final silent auction at the Saturday installation banquet. Proceeds from the auction will be divided between theKiwanis Foundation of New England’s Grant Program and Cape Cod Child Development, which provides a wide range of services to children and families on the Cape.
Also remember Governor Bill Jenkins' service project for Friday and Saturday. The District has purchased 200 backpacks for us to fill with basic elementary school supplies: pencil box, pencils, pens, crayons/markers, notebooks, folders, glue sticks, etc. We'll stuff the backpacks with the donated supplies on Friday and Saturday, and everything will be donated to Hyannis West Elementary School, a K-3 school where nearly half the children are considered English language learners, and 85 percent of the children are on a free or reduced school meal plan for low-income students.
The deadline for hotel reservations is Thursday, August 3. Registration deadline is Friday, August 18. Click here to register and to get complete hotel information.
