New Divisions Announced

The New England & Bermuda District Board voted February 10 to adopt a new set of Divisions effective October 1. The new lineup is attached. 


Overflow Rooms for Mid-Winter

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Doubletree by Hilton in Leominster, MA, Friday and Saturday, March 18-19 for our Mid-Winter Conference. The Doubletree is about five miles from the Great Wolf Lodge, the main hotel for the conference.Regular rooms are $92 per night and executive king suites are available for $132. Call (978) 534-9000 to reserve, and ask for the Kiwanis Winter Conference rate.

2015-2016 District Distinguished Criteria

Members will be recognized as Distinguished by meeting the criteria as outlined by Kiwanis International.  This program will continue to be administered by Kiwanis International and will include participation in club service activities and sponsorship of new members.  Members will apply for recognition using the online form provided by Kiwanis International.
Clubs will be recognized as Distinguished by the New England and Bermuda District by meeting the following criteria:

1.  Club must have a net positive growth in membership (a club must be at charter strength, 15 or more members to qualify)
2. Club provides at least 20 hours of hands-on community service per member during the 2015-2016 year.  Service hours MUST be reported via the online monthly reports to be counted.
3. Club Officers participated in Club Leadership Education.  Online or live classroom.
4. Completed  and submitted monthly online club reports for the 2015-2016 year.
5. Support Service Leadership Programs by participating in at least one of the following:
  • Sponsor or co-sponsor a K-Kids, Builder's Club, Key Club, Circle K or Aktion Club
  • Make a minimum $75 donation to K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K or Aktion Club
  • Sponsor a student to a Key Leader event OR contribute a minimum of $3.00 per member to either the Kiwanis Foundation of New England or the Kiwanis International Foundation.
Clubs need not submit an application to qualify. All criteria will be measured using data from online Official Monthly Reports, official membership reports for Kiwanis International, and contribution records from the New England and Bermuda District.
 
Clubs that qualify will receive a banner patch and Distinguished pins for both the club president and club secretary.  Distinguished clubs will also be recognized in District publications and at appropriate District events.
 
Divisions  will be recognized as Distinguished by the New England + Bermuda District by meeting the following criteria:
 
1.  Have at least 60% of the clubs in the Division qualify for Distinguished recognition
 
2.  Increase or maintain current membership level (ending membership as reported by Kiwanis International in October 2016 must be no less than beginning membership reported by Kiwanis International in October 2015).
 
Lt. Governors need not submit an application to qualify.  All criteria will be measured using data from online Official Monthly Reports, official membership reports from Kiwanis International, and contribution records for the New England and Bermuda District.
 
Lieutenant Governors of divisions that qualify will receive a Distinguished pin and shirt. Distinguished divisions will also be recognized in District publications and at appropriate District events.
